M5 es un cúmulo globular impresionante, localizado en la constelación de Serpens (a medio camino entre ésta y Virgo). Tiene un tamaño significativo y un alto grado de resolución, que es más evidente en un área, o halo, entre el centro del cúmulo y el borde. Se distingue un grupo suelto de estrellas, fuera del centro (a la izquierda, según el dibujo). ¡Impresionante!

M5 is an impressive globular cluster in Serpens (halfway between this constelation and Virgo). It is significantly large and shows a high level of resolution —more evident in a halo around the center and the cluster's borders. There is a small slightly scattered group of stars out of center (at left in the sketch).
